Ms Yu

Yu graduated from the Academy of Music, with her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music degree at the Hong Kong Baptist University. Before studying in HKBU, she began her piano lessons with Dr. Wong Chun-Wai, Hong Kong composer and pianist. She has received the DipABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance and Certificate of Grade 8 Music Theory. She was under the tutelage of Dr. Cheung, Pang Jane, a renowned Hong Kong pianist and educator. Besides, she has been coached by Dr. Yoonie Han, Mr. Young, Chap-Lai Raymond, and Mr. Hung Chong. Yu has participated in several music competitions and masterclasses. She received a prize of merit in the 75th Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition. Also, she won a second prize in the 6th Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia International Youth Piano Competition, organized by the Golden Bauhinia Music Foundation. She had years of teaching experience. Her students won in Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals and other music competitions. They obtained excellent results in piano exams, organized by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Besides, Yu is a collaborative pianist and accompanist. During her school years, she collaborated with her cohorts actively. She attended various masterclasses, including the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn Masterclass in 2019, being coached by Mr. Johannes Hehrmann, a German musician and violinist. Apart from that, she has been coached by Dr. Patrick T S Yim, violinist, Dr. Roberto Alonso Trillo, violinist, and Mr. Nowak, Olivier Pierre, flautist from the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in several chamber music groups and performed in student recitals. Apart from performing as a soloist and collaborative pianist, she is passionate in vocal music as well. She joined vocal classes in HKBU, under the tutelage of Dr. Sze-Siu Wan, Melody. She was also a member of Hong Kong Baptist University Choir and a member in the Music Office Youth Choir under LCSD Department. She participated in several choral concerts in public, including performances with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and recording sessions by RTHK Radio 4. She was honored to be one of the members in choir, representing Hong Kong to take part in reputable international events, The 11th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival in Germany. The choir won several Gold Awards in several categories. 余氏自七歲起習琴，自小便對音樂產生濃厚興趣，並已考獲英國皇家音樂學院鋼琴演奏文憑 (DipABRSM) 和八級樂理證書 （Grade 8 Music Theory）。余氏畢業於香港浸會大學音樂學院音樂文學士，主修鋼琴，先後師承香港作曲家及鋼琴家黃俊諱博士, 以及香港著名鋼琴及教育家張鵬博士。在學期間，余氏亦曾被多位著名鋼琴家指導，包括韓裔鋼琴家韓侖廷教授，楊習禮先生及洪昶先生。余氏擁有多年教琴和伴奏經驗，其學生在校際音樂節和音樂比賽中均獲得獎項，並於英國皇家音樂學院鋼琴考試中取得優異成績。 余氏積極參與比賽和演出，於第75屆施坦威國際青少年鋼琴比賽港澳賽區中取得優異獎，香港金紫荊音樂基金會舉辦的第六屆香港金紫荊國際青少年鋼琴大賽中取得第二名。余氏擁有豐富獨奏及合奏經驗，包括校內學生演奏會和大師班。在2019年，德國符騰堡海布隆室樂團訪港，余氏在其大師班內合奏演出，並獲其樂手指導。在校內，余氏經常合奏，參與室內樂演出，並曾接受多位演奏家指導，包括著名小提琴家嚴天成教授，西班牙籍小提琴家Roberto Alonso Trillo教授和香港管弦樂團長笛手盧韋歐先生。 余氏更熱衷於聲樂和合唱活動，於香港浸會大學修讀期間副修聲樂，受香港著名女中音史韶韻博士指導，曾為香港浸會大學合唱團及音樂事務處合唱團團員，參與多項合唱演出，包括康樂及文化事務處舉辦的音樂事務處週年音樂會，與香港管弦樂團共同演出，並參與香港電台第四台錄音。在2018年，余氏獲邀參與湖南衛視合唱演出。此外，余氏作為音樂事務處合唱團團員，亦曾代表香港，遠赴德國漢諾威參加第十一屆國際布拉姆斯合唱節和比賽，該比賽共有四十五個合唱團參賽，分別來自十七個國家及地區。合唱團於比賽中獲得五項獎項，包括各組別金獎，合唱團另獲邀於合唱節開幕音樂會、友誼音樂會及閉幕音樂會內獻唱。
